Garry Gregory, PA-C
Most of my life has been spent helping and healing people, whether a youngster with an earache, a trauma victim being transported to a hospital, or a patient in need of brain surgery. With Sound Family Medicine, I now get to do what I love best, treating patients of all ages with a wide range of medical needs. I’ll be working at the Bonney Lake clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays, and at the Hartland clinic on Wednesdays. I look forward to seeing patients by appointments or walk-in visits.
My work history is varied. I’ve been part of a family practice before, as well as an ear, nose and throat (ENT) practice. But people are often surprised to learn that, as an emergency medical technician (EMT), I also helped pioneer the California State Patrol’s emergency medevac program. Besides developing the program, I was part of a medical team transporting the most critically ill and injured patients from an eight-county area by helicopter.
When I pursued a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska, I picked neurosurgery as my specialty. This led to a position with a neurosurgery practice for the past six years, where I evaluated patients and helped them understand their treatment options. My role didn’t end in the clinic; I also assisted in many surgeries, including complex spinal surgeries and craniotomies. When surgery was over, I provided follow-up care.
My focus in the clinic was primarily on spinal injuries, but I also evaluated patients with movement disorders and recommended treatment options offering better quality of life. Many of these patients, suffering from the progressive long-term affects of Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease and similar conditions, can reduce their medications by undergoing a surgical procedure to implant an electrical stimulus device in a particular region of the brain. This is an exciting, relatively-new option for patients with movement disorders, and other conditions including chronic pain.
I’ve been married for 40 years to a wonderful woman who is also in the medical field. We have two grown sons, a dog and three cats. I look forward to meeting you and your family.
